Municipal Election Time

Since our Chapter deals with the municipal government on a regular basis for some issues, I believe it would be important to see which candidates share our interest in making our society better for everyone.

In order to do this I think it would be important to come up with some questions that are relevant to the Council of Canadians and ask each candidate. Their answers could be recorded or written down and then shared among our network. This can provide some more information to inform us who we want running our city council.

I understand there are individuals residing in other towns than Red Deer that are having elections next month, but the same questions may apply to those candidates as well. If we work together, some people residing in the jurisdictions who are having an election can ask their candidates.

Please email me all of the questions and I will distribute them to the rest of the list. If you believe them to be city/town specific, then please add which city/town you are from. I will organize them when I received them. If you want to send them in to me (coc.reddeer@gmail.com) by September 6, then that would make it easier.

Thank you all for you participation

About Council of Canadians, Red Deer and Area

The Council of Canadians Red Deer chapter is part of a national grassroots organization of committed individuals, like yourself, that work towards a greater society for all people. There has been an unprecedented growth of inequality since the development of neoliberal ideas in the political and economic realm, and we as an organized group, want to stand up to our government and big business leaders to tell them it does not have to be that way. We are here to educate and create awareness of the many different issues that effect all of us in the present and the future.
